Terms of Service

Last updated October 19, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Inkwell Studio service. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to them.

The service

Inkwell Studio creates personalized gift books. You answer questions about the recipient; our AI authoring system drafts a manuscript from your answers, which you review, revise and approve before ordering a digital or printed edition.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for the activity under your account. You must provide accurate information, including a valid email address for order updates.

Your content and your responsibility

The memories, facts and stories you contribute are yours. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share them, and you should only write about people who would be glad to appear in the book.

Do not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that reveals sensitive personal information about another person without their consent. We may remove projects that violate this.

Who owns the book

You own the personal content you contribute, and you receive the finished book for personal use and gifting. You may print, copy and share your book freely.

You grant Inkwell Studio the limited right to process your answers in order to generate the book and fulfil your order. We retain rights to the service itself — the design system, prompts and tooling — and may display anonymous, aggregated examples of what the studio produces. We will never publish your book or identify you without your explicit permission.

Orders, pricing and payment

Prices are shown for each edition before checkout. Your order is an offer to purchase; production begins once payment is confirmed. If a price or availability error affects a confirmed order, we will contact you to correct or refund it.

AI-generated material

Books are drafted by AI and refined with your feedback. While the studio keeps names, relationships and memories consistent with your answers, the writing is imaginative: it may interpret, embellish or dramatize the material you give it. Review the manuscript carefully before approving it — approval confirms the book is what you want printed.

Acceptable use

When using the service, you agree not to:

  • Use the service to harass, defame or harm any person.
  • Reproduce, scrape or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
  • Resell the service or misrepresent the studio's work as your own commercial product without our written agreement.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the studio available at all times, but maintenance, outages and feature changes happen. We may add, change or retire features of the service; terms for orders already placed are not affected retroactively.

Liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inkwell Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned.
