Information we collect

We collect only what the service needs to write, produce and deliver your book:

• Account details — your name, email address and password, used to sign you in and keep your projects tied to you.
• Your answers and stories — the responses you give in the creation wizard, which form the content of your book.
• Order details — the edition you choose, shipping address (for printed books), and order history.
• Usage information — basic analytics about how the site is used, used to improve the service.

How we use your information

Your answers are used to generate your book's manuscript, cover and typeset pages. Your order details are used to fulfil your order and keep you informed about its progress. Your email is used for account and order communication only — we do not send marketing email without your consent.

AI processing

Our books are written with the help of artificial intelligence. The answers you provide are passed to AI models to draft and revise your manuscript. Those models operate under our providers' data-processing agreements and are not used to train their public models.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information (such as health, financial or government identification details) about other people in your answers. Only write about people who would be happy to receive the book.

Sharing

We never sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers required to run the studio: our hosting and database provider, the AI providers that draft your book, our email provider, and — for printed orders — the printing and shipping partners who produce and deliver your book, who receive only the book files and delivery address.

Your projects and your rights

Your projects and manuscripts are visible only to you and, where needed to fulfil your order, to studio staff. You may delete a project at any time from the studio, which removes its manuscript from your account.

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by contacting hello@inkwell.studio. We will respond within 30 days.

Retention and security

We keep your projects and orders for as long as your account is active, so you can re-download and reorder your books. Account and order records are retained as required for accounting purposes. Data is stored with access controls, and only what is necessary is exposed to each part of the service.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
